Reiki
Reiki is a Japanese word representing universal
life force energy. It is the energy that makes us alive and
it is in every living thing. It is the energy that connects
all of us to the other and to the all. It comes to this plane
as a white light through a prism, breaking up into the entire
spectrum and each colour has a different vibration.
The word Reiki comes from Rei, meaning "universal" or "including
all". Ki means "vital life force" which is that
force that permeates our being. This vital life force energy
is also referred to as "Chi" and "Prana".
By its very nature, the frequency of Reiki heals
the body level first, then moving to the mental and emotional
levels and finally the spirit.
Reiki healing is a form of hands-on healing which
is said to be the way the Buddha and Jesus healed. When called
upon, the Reiki, or Source, energy fills the practitioner,
flowing out through his or her hands into the client's body,
giving every cell the proper energy and balance to heal, harmonise
and balance all the way down to DNA-level. Unlike western or
allopathic medicine, it is not limited, since it treats the
whole rather than the symptom. It is based on a relationship
between the healee and the Reiki energy.
The Reiki healer is merely a tool or vehicle
through which the energy is transmitted. It is always the responsibility
of the recipient to choose to be healed.
Once you are attuned to the Reiki Energy, you
are always able to draw that energy through you. You can never
forget how, you are simply able to do it.
Reiki Energy emanates from the Source or Universal
Energy. It can be called Source, God, Buddha, Supreme Being,
Father, Allah or whatever suits your truth.
To perform a successful healing in Reiki, usually
a series of treatment sessions will be done.
